Last weekend and up until yesterday I had the tiny dream (actually it became a lot bigger than I wanted it to be) of taking over the apartment of one of my friends which is in the same building, about double the size yet the same rent as I’m paying for my own apartment right now. I put up a little fight at the housing cooperation but it yielded into nothing but dissappointment. This bureaucracy of today’s institutions drive me insane sometimes.
In my mind I had already decorated the place from frontdoor to bathroom in a style I’ve become a great fan of lately. It’s a mixed mid-century, quirky, american, ethnic and aztec kind of direction. It includes objects because of their story, not their hype-value. Nevertheless, design classics are included, but with their original darker, teak colors. Now this style combined with a home flooded with light would be picture perfect. Here are some Etsy Favorites for April I wouldn’t mind adding to my home.
